Golden Galaxy is a free exploration experience for Roblox created by Speedy Skip. This is essentially Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends but on a galactic scale. Golden Galaxy is one of the newer Roblox titles, having only been released in 2021. Still, in that time, the game seems to have become rather popular. Even though it has only been favorited by 7,887 people, it has been played over 1.1 million times. 

Golden Galaxy is one of the many experiences that blur the line between honoring the popular culture phenomena that they are based on and becoming something completely new. If you’re looking for more of this type of experience, try Crewmates Among Us. This game lets you play Among Us in a first-person mode so that you can actually experience the 3-dimensional space represented by Among Us’ 2-dimensional representation of the Skeld. Trains in space

If you ignore the questionable physics involved with creating train tracks that extend out into space and connect to other planets, this game is incredibly inventive. However, given that this game is likely aimed at a younger generation, the science hardly matters as younger children won’t be focussing on how such a transportation system would make sense. Instead, they’ll be focussing on the fact that this game lets them drive a train in space.

Original characters

Choose between all of your favorite characters from the Thomas the Tank Engine franchise, and drive them wherever you want. When you first spawn, you’ll be within viewing distance of a roundabout. This is Tidmouth Sheds, and you’ll be able to pick your first train from here. This representation of Tidmouth Sheds is closest to that shown in All Engines Go. 

Here, you’ll be able to pick between Thomas, Henry, Gordon, James, and Percy - the last of whom is canonically the only locomotive to be named by the Fat Controller. However, you’ll also come across and be able to pilot countless other trains such as Emily, and the antagonistic Diesel. 

Excellent entertainment

No matter whether you spend your time careening along the vast complex system of rails spotting as many characters as you can, or whether you take up a job and chug along happily, you’re almost guaranteed to enjoy the experience.
